Basic Automotive Maintenance Training

The Basic Automotive Maintenance Training program at Rebuilding Generations provides hands-on instruction designed to teach participants essential vehicle care skills while building confidence, responsibility, and real-world job readiness. This entry-level course introduces students to fundamental automotive service procedures commonly performed in both personal and professional settings.

 

Participants will receive guided training in the following areas:

Brake Basics

Students learn the purpose and function of braking systems, how to identify common signs of brake wear, and the fundamentals of inspecting brake components safely. Instruction emphasizes safety procedures, proper tool usage, and preventative maintenance awareness.

Oil Change

Participants are trained on performing a standard oil and filter change, including selecting proper oil types, safely draining and disposing of used oil, and conducting a basic vehicle inspection during service. Emphasis is placed on shop safety and environmental responsibility.

Tire Rotation

This module teaches correct tire rotation patterns, safe vehicle lifting techniques, and how to inspect tires for wear, damage,proper inflation, and how to safely remove and install thwe wheels and tires with proper torque. Students gain an understanding of how regular tire maintenance improves safety, performance, and vehicle longevity.

Detail

Students learn professional vehicle cleaning and detailing techniques, including exterior washing, interior cleaning, and finishing practices that improve vehicle appearance and customer satisfaction. Training highlights attention to detail, efficiency, and presentation standards.
